Over the last two weeks, Instagram has been testing π©βπ¬ two rows of story icons on the home page above the news feed. β

Why you ask? π€β

Because people love ephemeral content. β³ Because stories disappear after 24 hours unless added to a highlight, users feel a sense of urgency and a need to take a look at what is going on. β

This sense of urgency has shown to increase engagement rates π over the regular newsfeed. Brands are seeing completion rates of over 50% with Instagram stories. β

It seems like Instagram wants to put it’s best foot forward here and make it easier for users to watch the stories π² they regularly engage with. β
