How to Create Instagram Story Highlight Covers
Have you ever wanted to keep your Instagram stories around?
Instagram allows you to add your story posts to a highlight so you can keep them as long as you’d like. Highlights appear on your profile under your description as little round buttons.
By default, Instagram displays the first story post added to a Highlight as the cover on that little button. This isn’t terrible, but you can make custom covers to improve the aesthetic of your Instagram profile!
Using your photo editor of choice, create an image that is 1080 x 1920 px, the size of an Instagram story. Put the image or Icon you want to appear as the highlight cover in the centre of the image. Save this image to your mobile device.
To edit a highlight cover, simply tap the highlight you wish to edit to open it, then tap the three dots at the bottom right corner and select “Edit Highlight”. After that/ you’ll see the “Edit Highlight” Interface. Tap “Edit Cover” to upload your new custom Highlight cover!
In this interface, tap the little photo icon to access your camera roll. Select your new cover, crop it accordingly, and tap “Done”!
Boom! That’s all there is to it. You’ve made yourself a sweet custom Highlight cover.
