Facebook Has Officially Changed Its Name

Facebook has officially changed its name!! 🎉
It’s no longer called Facebook. Unless you’re using the Facebook App… or Facebook.com… Then it’s still called Facebook. 🤔
The company Facebook — which owns Whatsapp, Instagram, and Oculus, will now be called: META!
And they still own Facebook. It’s confusing. 😵💫
In today’s keynote, Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook is now primarily a Metaverse company, so the name Facebook no longer makes sense — unless you’re talking about the Facebook App. The name change will also help separate Meta from Facebook’s bad press. 😬
This isn’t without precedent — Google did a similar thing back in 2015 when they rebranded their company from Google to Alphabet, making Google.com a subsidiary of Alphabet. This allowed Google to expand their interests beyond search engines and diversify into other technology like self-driving cars and Fitbit. 🤯
