Are You Using The Right Instagram Hashtags?
For #TipTuesday this week, we’re going to teach you how to pick the right hashtags for your business on Instagram.
This will help you reach your target audience and gain followers within your niche that will actually engage and interact with your content.
Don’t use overpopulated tags! If a tag has over a million posts, your post will quickly be flooded out by more recent posts and you’ll have a hard time getting into the “Top Posts” feed. Aim to use tags with less than 500k posts for more post visibility in the recent post feed and a better chance of making it into the “Top Posts” feed as well.
Make sure you are using hashtags that are relevant. Sure, using tags with over a million posts like #like4like may get you a few extra likes from bots, but they’re not going to help you reach your customers or generate any leads. Use hashtags that are relevant to your industry, target audience, and brand to build a genuine and engaged following.
Finally, make sure you switch up the tags you’re using from time to time. If you use the same batch of hashtags with every post, the Instagram algorithm may pick it up as spam and shadowban your account. This will make your posts invisible on hashtags which will significantly reduce the amount of engagement and reach your post will receive. Switch up your tags every now and again to avoid this. We recommend creating 3-4 batches of tags to cycle through.
That’s a wrap! As always, if you need help with you social strategy, Konstruct is happy to help.
