I am the Marketing Manager of Microbix. Mirobix is a Canadian lifesciences company that makes a range of critical materials for the global infectious disease diagnostics industry, for diagnostic immunoassays and its laboratory quality assessment products (QAPs™). Microbix’s antigens enable the antibody tests of over 120 international diagnostics companies, while its QAPs™ are sold to globally to clinical laboratory accreditation organizations, diagnostics companies, and clinical laboratories.

Microbix had no focus on SEO and needed experts to guide us in the right direction. Our goals were to maximize our SERP coverage and search traffic ROI, and also capture search leads specifically in the U.S. market due to higher opportunities. The scope of the work is as follows:
– SEO: Konstruct is focused on driving non-branded search traffic to Microbix’s website. The team initiated Content SEO analysis (Competitor Keyword research, gap analysis, sitemap research, keyword mapping), Technical SEO audits, Consulted on title and metadata optimizations and implemented a complete website refresh.
– Paid Media Campaign: Drive conversions from paid search traffic, specifically in the USA market. This is a new and ongoing project where Konstruct within a month’s time has completed a opportunity analysis within the target market, optimized product pages, set up GMB, recommended a budget and outlined a campaign blueprint.
– Marketing Support: maintenance of the website, creating lead generation strategies, and company collateral.

Development work: Konstruct constant communication, attention to detail and technical expertise on dev tasks has made working with them on several projects feel like a breeze.
Competitive Analysis: wanting to close the gap between our competitors:
– Microbix is ranking for 201 non-branded keywords with 58 on page 1.
SEO: our goal was to increase traffic across landing pages. We saw the following outcomes between the period of Apr 1 – June 30, 2024:
– Our organic engaged sessions increase by 58% from last year.
– Seeing continued growth of our tracked keywords, where the Search visibility and Share of Voice has seen an increase of 105% over the reporting period.
Conversions: our goal was to increase non-branded traffic to take action on the site:
– We saw an increase of 200% in users requesting for our company catalogue, and 44% in email link clicks.
– Improvement in quality leads through proper implementation of quote forms by Konstruct helped us gain actual Marketing qualified leads.

The digital strategist (Katrine) has consistently set clear objectives, adjusted workload regardless of budgetary restrictions, documented all resources for ease, communicated weekly/monthly depending on project complexity and has gone out of her way to help us out with Paid media issues. The entire team involved, whether it was a Search focus (Joel), or, Site developement work (Jermayne), they’ve been incredibly supportive through this project. I have encoutered 0 late deliverables since July 2023.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
What was impressive is how they are never out of reach. The team has managed to hop on urgent calls over their vacation, or, always had a point of contact to make sure there are no roadblocks.
Also, each team member I’ve spoken to has great expertise in the subject they are talking about. It really puts you at ease because you know can truts their recommendations/ proposed strategies.
There is also a good balance of fun and professional during our calls!
Are there any areas they could improve?
The only areas for improvement I could think of is their expertise/experience working within the life sciences industry. This is fairly new to them (or, it could also be because the products/services our company offers may be a niche), however this has not affected their ability to successfully implement every project I have worked with them on so far. This is also because they have managed to ask the right questions during every briefing call.
