Ling’s Cars: Going Against The Grain With Web Design

Web design and UX trends come and go as the years go by… 💻 ⁣

We’ve seen a countless number of trends, styles, and different tactics being used. Marketers and web designers have created a scientific formula to make websites convert, and users are herded like sheep through their sales funnels. 🐑 ⁣

This is great and all. But websites are lacking a lot of originality and flavour. It’s easy to pass by a website using one of these new trends. They’re a dime a dozen! 🤷‍♂️ ⁣

Sometimes, the best thing you can do is go against the grain and completely disregard the status quo. We love seeing people being disruptive in the industry – especially when it makes an impact. 🙌 ⁣

A fantastic example of this is Ling’s Cars. The owner, Ling Valentine, could care less what other people are doing when it comes to web design and marketing. 🙅 ⁣

She uses a painfully 90’s looking aesthetic to create a busy, brutalist design. Generally speaking, this should be a red flag for most web users by today’s standards, but it is the opposite. Many people are drawn to for the hilarity of it all, and it works well for Ling. 💯⁣

Ling has been named as the biggest individual seller of new cars in the UK. That’s a pretty impressive accolade! It just goes to show, you don’t need to follow what everyone else is doing to be successful. 📈 ⁣
