More Featured Snippet Changes Coming Soon

There has been a ton of craziness happening with featured snippets 📰 that could be affecting your search visibility and organic traffic. 📉⁣

📋 To recap what has happened: ⁣
⁣
🚨 January 22nd: Google shocked SEOs and marketers with their “de-duplication update” for featured snippets 📰. Google thinks of featured snippets as position 1️⃣ in search results and removed results with the same URL as the snippet from the first page.⁣
⁣
They claim that duplicated URLs being pushed to the top of page two was a bug 🐛 (this was fixed and won’t happen anymore!). They also claim that the de-duplication of right column featured snippets was also a bug. Right side de-duplication ✅ should now be stopped or reverted. ⁣

📢 February 28th: Google plans to move all “true” featured snippets in the right column to the main column (these will also be de-duplicated). ⁣
